Govt. of India, vide Office Memorandum F.No.44/44/2014-RE dated 3rd December 2014 issued by the Ministry of Power, launched Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Yyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) with the following components
Broad Objective of the Scheme
Scope of Works specific to achivements of the broad objectives:
Strengthening of sub-transmission & distribution sysytem and metering at all levels of distribution network.
Sailent Features of the Scheme :
Nodal Agency : Rural Electrification Corporaion Limited(REC) is the Nodal Agency operationalisation and implementation of the scheme under the overall guidance of MoP.
Project Management Agency (PMA) : REC Power Distribution Company Ltd(RECPDCL)and PFC Consulting Ltd(PFCCL) have been appointed as Project Management Agency(PMA)to assist in project management as well as timely implementation of the project.
Mode of Implementation : The projects shall be implemented on turn-key basis. However some work will be executed on partial turnkey/departmental basis for which approval has been received from the Monitoring Commitee, MoP, GOI.
Implementation Period : Projects under the scheme shall be completed within a period of 24 months from the date of issue of Letter of Award (LoA). For execution of work on partial turnkey/departmental basis, project needs to be completed within 30 months from date of communication of the approval of the Monitoring committee.
As part of State Government initiative on promotion of Renewable Energy in the state 2 Solar Artifacts (Tree) @ 3.2KWP each were installed and made operational by WBREDA on 25th May, 2018 at Bidyut Unnayan Bhawan, Salt Lake, Kolkata. Shri Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay, Hon'ble MIC, Power & NES Department declared the Solar Artifacts operational in the August presence of Shri Sunil Kumar Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary, Shri Rajesh Pandey, CMD WBSEDCL, Shri Santanu Basu, CMD WBPDCL.
